Abstract:

In Applied Psychology: An International Review 53/1, 87-112. This study develops a tool which can help researchers understand the ways in which individuals perceive their own ethnic identity. The components and symbols that determine ethnic identification are analyzed. The author uncovers a structure of identity along two axes: the cognitive/affective and the specific/universal.
