CGR examined expenditure and revenue information for 359 units of local government on Long Island. This data was incorporated into a report published in 2006 entitled the Long Island Index, a status report on the Long Island region which engages the community to think about the future. The report is a catalyst for future action and change. It covers a wide range of topics including demographics, economic indicators, schools, environment, and governance. CGR focused on taxes, government expenditures and revenues.
