Abstract:
Although the central purpose of Jewish youth programs is to strengthen the Jewish identity and Jewish loyalties of teens, the author cautions that Jewish educators must serve Jewish teenagers in their teenage identities just as they serve their Jewish identities, helping them to become capable adults. The author discusses how adolescent development can interact with behavior, Jewish programming and Jewish youth groups.
