Abstract:
Area Agencies on Aging, part of the Aging Services Network administered by the Administration on Aging, provide a range of services to elderly individuals including information and access, community-based and in-home services, housing, and elder protection services.
This report explores salient features of Area Agencies on Aging, documenting findings from a 2005/2006 survey of their governance structure, funding sources, service delivery, relationships with providers, staffing, clients served, and barriers to system integration, to better understand the role of and challenges faced in serving vulnerable elderly people.
