Abstract:
The author explores selected aspects of Jewish identity in the changing context of contemporary general and Jewish society. He contrasts several models of assimilation and analyzes recent demographic studies and surveys. He finds that patterns of Jewish identification are diverse and continuously changing, albeit with trends that can be projected into the future.
