Abstract:
This issue of Contact examines ways in which afternoon schools can take the initiative in creating innovative, dynamic and rewarding Jewish educational experiences. Rabbi Nathan Laufer, Lauren Applebaum, Rafi Esterson, Rabbi Daniel Freelander, Rabbi Jan Katzew, Heather Brown, and Margie Tarmy Berkowitz all discuss specific new schools curricula and initiatives attempting to recreate the religious school experience.
