Abstract:
The author reviews "Jewish Women and Their Salons: The Power of Conversation", an exhibit which was shown at the Jewish Museum (New York) and the McMullen Museum of Art at Boston College. The exhibit drew on a variety of historical sources, including letters, diaries, paintings and literature. The author explains that the exhibit illustrates and enhances the important contributions of women's history and gender studies to the field of Jewish studies.
