The author shares his experience studying the Hebrew Bible at both Yale University and Hebrew University, comparing and contrasting the two departments as regards teaching methods, modes and goals of inquiry, linguistic requirements and approaches, and how the study of the Hebrew Bible fits into the larger scene at each university.
