Abstract:
The formal early care and education (ECE) industry in Los Angeles County encompasses a range of service options designed to nurture, support, enrich and educate children from birth through age 12, outside of traditional K-12 education.
A previous economic impact report in 1999 demonstrated that ECE is a critical component for any comprehensive plan for sustained economic development of Los Angeles County. This new report aims to bridge the gap between current economic development planning and ECE by demonstrating that ECE remains a critical component of Los Angeles County's current and future economy.
