Abstract:
Ten years after the International Conference on Population
and Development, sexual and reproductive health issues concerning adolescents in Sub-Saharan Africa have become even more critical than in the 1990s. By the end of 2005, an estimated 4.6% of females and 1.7% of males aged 15 to24 years in Sub-Saharan Africa were living with HIV and about one in 10 young women experienced a premarital birth by age 20.
