Abstract:
In Contemporary Jewry 23, 64-71. The article analyses the influence Jewish social networks have over identity and participation in Jewish activities. The author suggests to reconsider the neighborhood asking whether propinquity automatically fosters common identity or is it commonality of interest and values that do so? The author also questions whether Jewish friendship circles might influence further Jewish involvement in a time where 'virtual reality has become the real thing.'
