Abstract:
Through interviews with 40 women and 25 of their former husbands, the study explores the nature of the couples' communal ties before and after their divorces, and inquires particularly into the impact of divorce on their religious affiliations. The study also focuses on the degree of support that Jewish communal institutions can become more responsive to the needs of Jewish single-parent families.
