Abstract:
The chief objective of this study is to identify and elucidate the key components of excellence in a short-term trip to Israel for North American Jewish adolescents. Our purpose here is neither to evaluate specific trips, nor to delineate which trips are better than others. We seek those elements that in the minds of trip purveyors, young participants, parents, and outside observers generally tend to enrich and magnify the educational impact of the adolescents' experience in Israel. Here we are only concerned with organized group trips to Israel and not the experience of individual travelers.
