Abstract:
This is a report on Jewish education. Part I focuses on the relationship between Jewish education and Jewish attitudes and lifestyles among adults; part II will explore current levels of formal and informal Jewish education among American Jewish children in diverse types of households. This report indicates that Jewish education is one of the most effective tools for producing Jewishly identified adults. It demonstrates that morre extensive forms of Jewish education are closely associated with greater Jewish identification. The report is based on the findings of the 1990 NJPS.
