Abstract:

In: Studies on Jewish Education 3, 226-245. The paper presents a few general remarks on the scope and potentialities of the first census of Jewish schools in the Diaspora 1981/2-1982/3. Data on hours of total and Judaic instruction in Jewish schools were introduced and briefly analyzed. The data available and further data collection as part of the Project for Jewish Educational Statistics, constitute a substantial transformation of the scope and depth of quantitative research on Jewish education.
