Abstract:

This paper seeks to add to the limited literature available on the nature and limitations of stabilization efforts implemented by Jewish communal agencies by comparatively analyzing efforts in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Cleveland. This paper draws heavily from open-ended interviews conducted with staffs of various stabilization projects and the staffs of local Jewish federations.
