Abstract:
Using the NJPS 2000 and other Jewish population studies, the Jewish identity of mixed-parentage and Jewish parentage is compared. In the abstract the former are oriented to the Jewish people, but at a concrete level their communal ties are tenuous and their children's Jewish identity is doubtful.
