Abstract:

The data presented here attest to the stability of American Jewish attitudes toward Israel. At the bare minimum, they contradict the prevailing assumption that American Jews must have grown at least somewhat more distant from Israel during the turbulent 1980's. If such is the case, how is that so many perceptive observers come to the opposite conclusion?
