Abstract:

In: Journal of Jewish Communal Service 71/2-3, 212-220. Participation of American teenagers in short-term Israel experience programs is affected not only by the characteristics of the individuals themselves but also by the region or community they come from. There are wide variations among communities in terms of their Israel program yield - the number of participants per capita. Those communities with relatively smaller Jewish populations, higher incomes and higher rates of synagogue affiliation have the highest yields.
