Abstract:

This article endeavors to review what has happened between the late 1950s and the late 1990s regarding the presence and role of women in several critical processes that have affected Jewish populations and communities. The following is a selective review of trends in the areas of educational attainment and employment, marriage and fertility, and Jewish identification.
