Abstract:
The American Jewish family may be changing dramatically - young adults are staying single and childless longer, divorcing and intermarrying more frequently. But none of these trends holds out serious dangers for Jewish familial or communal continuity in demographic terms, even though they may well affect the quality of Jewish family life. Numerous arguments, data, and interpretations counterbalance the unduly pessimistic perspective.
