Abstract:
In recent years, the "non-denominational" or even "non-sectarian" Jewish community center has been the subject of much controversy. The nature of the relationship of the Orthodox community vis-Ã -vis an avowedly religiously neutral institution is discussed in the following exchange between Prof. Charles Liebman and Graenum Berger, consultant on community centers and camps to the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York.
