Abstract:
This report is an effort to gauge how Jewish Day Schools have weathered the economic storms. 88 schools provided information, among them 28 Community, Solomon Schechter, and Reform day schools, while the other were under Orthodox sponsorship. These schools enroll about 30% of all U.S. Jewish day school enrollment. Neither new nor small schools were interviewed since these are more prone to be affected by sudden economic shifts unrelated to outside economic conditions.
