Abstract:
The author addresses the issue of girls who become pregnant as unmarried teenages, and who are institutionalized or ostracized as sex offenders. She argues that, from a justice perspective, courts must hold men and women equally responsible for these sex offenses, and from a social perspective, communities and especially the Jewish community must take proactive preventative measures to protect and nurture the morality of vulnerable girls.
