Abstract:

The author notes the problem of a large number of immigrants eligible for citizenship but not yet naturalized, and the efforts of the Baltimore Jewish Educational Alliance to encourage and assist these men in submitting their citizenship papers. Additionally the community provides citizenship classes on evenings and weekends specifically geared to men who for one reason or another cannot attend the regular, longer series of courses. The author further suggests that the community work to stay in touch with these new citizens and encourage active political participation and voting.
