Abstract:
This article describes a model Jewish family life education program for expectant parents that is co-sponsored by a Jewish Family Service agency and a synagogue. The participants not only learn about Jewish birth rituals but also explore their own feelings about those rituals in the presence of other expectant parents. The program enables the synagogue and the family agency to connect meaningfully with families experiencing lifecycle events.
