Abstract:

The Jewish community is today in the midst of a watershed change in which its frame of reference is being redefined from modernity to post-modernity. Rather than being depressed or confused by the NJPS demographic findings, Jewish communal leaders must assume the responsibUity of mobilizing the community to pursue innovative approaches. One such approach is to transform the policies and programs of the organized Jewish community to be more responsive to a population of acculturated Jews who are searching for community, meaning, and rootedness.
