Abstract:

There is a clear relationship between denominational attachment and support for Israel. Orthodox Jews are significantly more likely than other Jews to report a strong attachment to Israel, to talk about Israel often, to have close friends or family in Israel, and to have visited it themselves. Even those Jews who were raised in Orthodox homes but now claim loyalties elsewhere are more likely to support Israel. Therefore, communal programs on Israel and Zionism must reflect the needs, sensibilities, and concerns of Orthodox Jews.
