Abstract:
This article presents some basic information about the halacha (laws) of the divorce process with which Jewish communal professionals should be familiar. It describes the Get (Jewish divorce document), the problems of the mamzer (bastard/issue of illegitimate union) and the agunah (chained woman, not free to marry again), and the bet din (Jewish rabbinical court) process.
