Abstract:

An organization audit of 45 secular Jewish communal, women's, and religious organizations in Great Britain found that women are underrepresented in the leadership of the general organizations, although their participation on committees and holding office have increased in recent years. Despite the growing participation of women in the labor force, membership in women's organizations has been maintained over the last decade, but as a result of the aging of the community. Younger and unaffihated women are still volunteering, but in single-issue Jewish groups and in non-Jewish organizations.
