Abstract:
The security of the American Jewish community is directly linked to the strength of American democratic society. Thus, the Jewish community relations field must define its goals and policies in terms of fostering and preserving such an open, pluralistic society. Its priorities should be to protect the First Amendment and the separation of church and state, fight prejudice and discrimination, and work with other groups to solve contemporary society's complex social and economic problems.
