Abstract:
In Studies in Contemporary Jewry 5, 201-208. The article refers to the essay written by DellaPergola and Schmelz, "Demographic Transformations of American Jewry: Marriage and Mixed Marriage in the 1980's." The most basic issue of disagreement among the authors to Goldscheider surrounds the conceptualization of the processes underlying family changes. While the former describe them as "erosion," while the later perceives them as "transformation."
