Abstract:

CGR updated prior assessments of the economic impact on Rochester of the URMC expansion, prepared six case studies of the role academic medical centers play in their local economies and assessed the net impact of graduate medical education (GME) on the Rochester area. For the third component, CGR summed revenues received through Medicare and the NYS GME funding pool, balanced against estimates of the value of patient care provided by hospital residents.
