Abstract:

Five communities in Oneida County – the Town of Whitestown, and the Villages of Yorkville, New York Mills, Whitesboro and Oriskany – had discussed off and on over the years consolidating their separate police departments. CGR was engaged to provide, for the first time, comprehensive information that can serve as an unbiased, fact-based foundation for discussions within the 5 communities about how to organize their police services in the future. CGR outlines key issues and recommends next steps should consolidation be pursued.
