Abstract:

The U.S. should promote a policy of “Economic Growth for Peace.” Such a policy should press Arabs to end their boycott, assist free market economic reform in Israel and Jordan, urge Israelis and Palestinians to deal with the problem of Arab-on-Arab violence in the territories, and review current U.S. aid policy in the Middle East with a view toward a long-term phasedown.
