Abstract:

The World Health Organization deservedly has been respected as one o f the most effective and dedicated international agencies grouped under the United Nations umbrella. WHO has led victorious battles against smallpox, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, poliomyelitis, measles, and tuberculosis. Whether WHO will achieve future victories, however, is a matter of mounting concern.
