Abstract:
The United States is the largest consumer and importer of oil in the world. Much of this oil comes from countries with political agendas running counter to U.S. interests and global values of pluralism and democracy. This addiction is detrimental to our national security, economy, and environment.
This report outlines the American Jewish Committee's concerns related to America's dependence on oil and the measures we can take to free ourselves from it. The authors argue that we must work together to adopt a sustainable energy plan to secure America's future.
