Abstract:
The author compares anti-Americanism to antisemitism, arguing that the two phenomena converge and attract the same types of devotees. Furthermore, he asserts, both serve the same social functions: focusing discontent and explaining internal failures. This convergence is on the rise, the author contends, both throughout the Muslim world and in Europe, particularly in Germany and France.
