Abstract:
This paper analyzes data available from state "leavers" studies regarding the child care experiences of families who have left welfare. The paper discusses the importance and limitations of leavers study data and reviews key findings regarding leavers use of child care subsidies, their awareness of subsidy programs, their care arrangements, and the effect of child care problems on their employment activities.
