Abstract:
Head Start programs provide early childhood education, comprehensive services, and family support to more than 900,000 low-income children and their families. This brief paper describes the specific Head Start requirements for the provision of health screenings, follow-up, and linkages to services to participating children and their families and provides data on health services provided to Head Start children and families in 2002.
