Abstract:

Despite the success of many welfare recipients in finding jobs, their wages typically leave them below the poverty level and, for many, the jobs do not last. Julie Strawn of CLASP is the primary author of a new guide written for MDRC, Steady Work and Better Jobs, that brings together best practices and up-to-date research findings to help staff working in TANF, Workforce Investment Act, and other programs to promote steady work and access to better jobs.
