Abstract:
The Uniform Parentage Act (UPA) provides a comprehensive framework for establishing the parentage of children born to both married and unmarried couples. The UPA was revised in 2002, and six states have enacted it in some form. This memo includes a table that compares major provisions of the model act to state enactments and variations.
