Abstract:
The United States economy is undergoing a major transformation. This requires a new vision for workforce policy—one that promotes a "high-road" path to U.S. competitiveness and greater economic opportunity for all workers. These recommendations for reauthorization of Title I of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) focus on both the supply and demand sides of the labor market, in order to address the long-term needs of workers and employers in the new competitive economy.
