Abstract:
The traditional model of services for the elderly, the authors assert, is a straight line from the home, through a referral system of a number of independent and uncoordinated agencies, directly to the nursing home. As the authors explain, the Jewish community in Chicago, IL, decided to try a new, more flexible approach, by coordinating all services within one plan, and tailoring services to individual needs.
