Abstract:
Coping with the aftereffects of trauma can be a difficult task. The author conveys some of these difficulties by sharing the obstacles she has faced while trying to cope with her past as a concentration camp prisoner. The author argues for the need for comprehensive mental health treatment and suggests that there is a lack of adequate treatment in Jewish communities. She also mentions that many survivors of concentration camps have been misdiagnosed with feelings of guilt. According to her, these misdiagnoses often exacerbate the psychological issues which are being treated.
