Abstract:
With an eye toward broader theories of organizational change, the authors examine a community-based synagogue change initiative undertaken in Hartford, CT, called "Laatid: Synagogues for the Future." The authors base their analysis on in-depth key informant interviews, document review, and secondary analysis of surveys conducted by the congregations. They discuss the approaches to change taken by the three congregations studied under the framework of "inside," "inside/out" and "outside/in."
