This document highlights elements of the "Jewish Community Study: 2002" which relate to synagogues. General Jewish population trends in the metropolitan New York area are provided, followed by data concerning the relationships between synagogue membership, denominational affiliation and other factors including: population distribution, economic diversity, ethnic diversity, values and beliefs, marital status, intermarriage, Jewish connections, and how children are raised.
