This report examines in detail the Jewish community of Long Island, NY, and Queens, NY, drawing its data from the UJA-Federation's "Jewish Community Study: 2002," with a focus on information with implications for Reform Judaism. Topics examined include principal areas of Jewish residence, population density, age, language and nationality (Russian-speakers), denominational affiliation, Jewish practice and observance, Israel connections, Jewish education, intermarriage, how children are raised, elderly population, income status, Jewish poverty and human service needs, and philanthropic activity.
