Abstract:

This report discusses findings and recommendations concerning the challenges of transitioning individuals with developmental disabilities throughout their lifetimes. These findings come from a series of listening groups -- in-depth, qualitative interviews with small numbers of carefully selected people. These listening groups were conducted with parents, agency service providers, educators, medical professionals and government employees. Topics covered include early identification, education, respite, transition planning, adulthood, family services, personnel training, and others.
