Abstract:
The author presents data on the short-term impact of Jewish day school education on high school students who entered the school with little or no previous day school background. He examines the impact of preparatory tracks, designed to quickly raise both the Judaic knowledge level and the observance level of participating students. He concludes that preparatory tracks are successful, particularly in Orthodox schools.
